“Awareness of Between-ness”

Collective Unconscious

I have always felt a connection to the natural world since childhood. The idea stems from C.G Jung’s collective unconscious in which all human beings are connected under a collective unconscious. These psychological theories have been investigated through dream and automatism by Surrealists and also in Kandinsky’s theory of spirituality in art. I believe that we are not only all connected to each other but also connected to the natural world through a collective unconscious.
I am tapping into the collective unconscious by merging painting and photography as a means of distorting memory/mind and simple/complicated nature.
